Dual-Credit: Chemistry

Michael Towle, Physical Science Teacher

Mr. Towle has worked as a medical lab assistant. He believes it is important for students to actively engage with the content they are learning through lab activities and science projects. Mr. Towle has a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry from Western Washington University. He has a Master of Arts in teaching from Eastern Oregon University.

CHEMISTRY

Chemistry is offered as a dual-credit class at Riddle High School. Upon completion, students will be awarded 4 credits of lab science through Umpqua Community College. Topics covered include: dimensional analysis, the structure of the atom, the periodic table, electron configurations, the mole, balancing equations stoichiometry, energy changes in chemical reactions, states of matter and gas laws.
