Riddle High School band was invited to play at the Douglas County Courthouse on March 6, 2024 to participate in ‘Music in our Schools Month’.
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, Chris Boice, Tim Freeman, and Tom Kress do hereby recognize the month of March 2024 as “Music in our Schools Month” in Douglas County and see it as an opportunity to celebrate the teaching and practices of music education. We encourage teachers, parents, students, and all citizens to participate in this celebration.
For more than 30 years, March has been officially designated as National Music in Our Schools Month, encouraging communities across the nation to focus on and celebrate the impact music education has on our youth and our communities. The purpose of our musical celebration is to raise awareness of the lasting and positive impact music education has on the academic, personal and professional growth of our local students. Music, and other arts, significantly enhance quality of school environments and contribute to a well-rounded education for every student.
